Accidents - Bowser Junior

I had an accident when I was two months.

The others told me about it, since I don’t remember anything at all.

It had begun after my hatching. Because of… something I supposedly caused – no one has ever told me what – there was a lot of resentment towards me from my older brothers and sister. Especially since Papa spent so much time with me after my hatching. But the others told me that he was never really focused until my accident... he was always distracted about something. I didn’t even have a name yet; everyone just called me ‘Baby’. Whenever I asked him why he was distracted, he would always manage to change the subject, so I stopped thinking about it.

It was around this time that Iggy had really gotten into inventing bigger things. I think this is also when he started to lose his mind, so his inventions had begun to get more dangerous and risky compared to before I was born.

Out of all my siblings, Wendy hated me the most. I get that, seeing how she acts… she’s such a brat. And Larry told me that she’d gotten the most attention before I came into the picture…

…considering how vengeful she is now, I can only imagine how much worse it was when she was younger…

I’m only surprised that it wasn’t Ludwig who hated me the most; it turned out that a week after my egg was laid, Papa told the others that I was going to be next in line for the throne, not Ludwig. I guess he did have a few moments to cool off, but everyone thought that he was going to try to break the egg or something, so I was put under heavy guard.

Iggy had been working on a large machine around this time, too. It was supposed to be some kind of vaporizer, but Papa forced him to change its purpose in case I had tried to use it by mistake. So he remade it into many other things, most recently a teleportation device. He only got the thing to work a week ago, funny enough.

Anyway, I was told that I had been playing with Papa, who, yet again, was distant and distracted. I was really happy because he had just given me his bandana that he had gotten when he was a baby. It still smells like him, too! I had already put my fang design on it, so happy that I had such a close token from my father’s childhood. We were painting the fang design together when Kamek had come running to us, yelling about how Morton had gotten his head stuck in a small warp pipe. Again.

Papa had quickly gotten up and left me alone to paint, figuring that the worst that could happen was that I could make a big mess with my paints.

That didn’t even come close to what actually transpired.

Wendy had snuck into the room the moment he had left, and she picked me up. Being only two months, I was happy to see her, since my siblings almost never came to play with me unless Papa forced them to. Not even Lemmy would come to visit.

Ironically now I do my best to try to avoid her… but I can’t help it! She’s so annoying!

So Wendy brought me to Iggy’s lab, being careful not to step on anything. She put me into Iggy’s latest machine – the one I told you about earlier – and turned it on.

Yeah. She was trying to get rid of me. Permanently. I was just as shocked when I first heard about it, not even a month ago. I can’t really blame her for it though… I mean, whatever I did seemed to really upset everyone if my siblings wouldn’t even talk to me for over a year…

Now something that I just found out recently was that my appearance was actually much different when I was born. I was never told what my original look was… the others always tell me to not to ‘focus on the past’. Whatever that means. I just want to know what the differences were…

So when Wendy turned on the machine, which had been altered since Wendy had heard about it, instead of vaporizing me, it began to change me. Since I was wearing my bandana, and it had Papa’s smell on it (Ludwig called it ‘DNA’ but I don’t know what that means), it turned out that the machine began to morph me into a clone of my Papa.

Not that I’m complaining! Papa’s the best!

It turned out that Ludwig happened to be walking by when Wendy rushed out, leaving me behind and cackling away, thinking that I was done for.

He had glanced into the lab casually, and he nearly screamed on seeing me in Iggy’s machine. He was able to quickly stop it before I became an exact copy of Papa or melted away into nothing, but the damage had already been done: I looked almost exactly like Bowser Koopa when he was a kid.

When Papa heard about it, everything changed. He stopped being so distracted. People stopped freaking out about Ludwig being around me since he saved my life. Fittingly, he gave me the name Bowser Jr. and he took me along to all sorts of things, kind of forgetting about the others. I felt kind of bad since my brothers and sister were getting ignored, so I told Papa about it. Now they’re coming with me to our first ever Smash tournament!

I had an accident when I was two months.

Because of it, I got my name and I’m closer to my Papa than ever before.

Even if people hate me and think I’m a clone, I don’t care.

Because family’s the most important thing to me, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
